Renowned for her sculptural practice, Sora Kimberlain engages deeply with marble, a material she describes as both demanding and endlessly compelling.
Sora Kimberlain is a stone sculptor who also works on paper. Based in San Francisco, she maintains a warehouse stone studio in Omaha, Nebraska, where she develops much of her sculptural practice. Kimberlain works primarily in marble, employing hand chisels alongside power and pneumatic tools to shape the material. Her sculptures and drawings are informed by the emotive qualities of the human form as well as the structural language of cutting-edge contemporary architecture.
