Humming with Otherworldly Energy
The paintings of Yari Ostovany are evocative and moving; limitless landscapes of intense color and atmosphere that conjure a sense of place that is somehow no place. His layered, textural technique makes each canvas an intense focal point, and in his latest work, the addition of geometric fragments compounds the visual interest.
An Oakland, California-based artist, Ostovany is now in his third decade of creative prominence and his work has reached a level of mastery that is readily apparent in this, his second solo exhibition with Wessling Contemporary.
